Dad Rituals That Stick — Part 1
Open when… you want a protected block that survives Tuesday — not a personality makeover or a gag-gift aisle.
Checklist · one table · soft shelf
SaveDad rituals that stick are small, repeatable handoffs — not a personality makeover. Part 1 is three rituals you can keep when the week gets loud: a night block, a morning five, and one weekend soft shift. Partnership language only. No punchlines, no shame, no “assistant parent” framing. Pick one ritual this week. Protect it like a calendar hold. Write the start and end where both caregivers can see it. Part 2 can grow later; today is about something that survives Tuesday. Night block means the kit is ready before the handoff — bottles-if-needed, diaper caddy, dim lamp — so the other adult can actually sleep. Morning five is water, curtains, one song or board book, phone face-down. Weekend soft shift is one chore plus baby block owned end-to-end, finished without a status meeting.
Skip this
- Gag gifts and “dad joke” kits as the reason to show up
- Guilt hooks (“your kid will fail without…”)
- Scorekeeping after the handoff
- Monitor-as-fear kits sold as the ritual
- Trying all three rituals in one week until one collapses
